Background
Nowadays, accelerator technology plays increasing roles in many fields of research from fundamental and high-energy physics to biology, chemistry, food and agriculture, human health and medicine, environment, materials science, forensics, cultural heritage, and many others. Many accelerator facilities are available among ASEAN Member States and can support cooperation in science, technology and innovation for socio-economic development in ASEAN. ASEAN Large Nuclear and Synchrotron Facility Network (LNSN) takes this opportunity to organize a workshop on accelerator applications in research to promote the understanding of accelerator science and applications and their utilization among ASEAN research community.
Purpose and objectives
- Disseminate the knowledge of accelerator technology and its applications among ASEAN Member States.
- Promote utilization of accelerator technology in research as well as utilization of infrastructure available in ASEAN.
- Promote collaboration among ASEAN researchers working on accelerator applications.
Target audience
Young to mid-career researchers from ASEAN Member States who are interested in utilizing accelerator technology in their research.
Organizer
